The November Pivot Point Newsletter survey asked you how you get focused on the product strategy and the overall company strategy.
Most of the Product Managers who responded to the survey say they start by looking at information from the market. This approach was chosen by 71% of respondents.
Says one PM: “One of my favorite ways is to find out what our competitor is working on through blogs and news articles.”
Talking with customers or colleagues ranked second (47%) as a way to get focused on strategy. “Getting out of the office and clearing my head” ranked third. These two approaches go hand in hand — a customer visit gives you a break from the office and a breath of fresh insight into how customer needs are evolving.
